What's included
We build new decks, and we refinish existing ones by cleaning, sanding, and putting down fresh stain or sealer.
Because Dedate is engineer owned and operated, lumber, fasteners, and finishes get chosen with you, weighing your budget against how the deck will be used and how much weather it takes.
Not sure whether your deck needs a refresh or a rebuild? Describe it in your request (photos help) and we'll tell you what we see when we come out for the bid.
What we don't do
Rooftop decks and anything that needs an engineered structural design are outside our scope; for those, start with a structural engineer or a general contractor. We don't do emergency repairs on collapsing or unsafe decks, so if a deck feels unsafe, stay off it and call a licensed contractor who handles urgent structural work.
If your project isn't a good fit for Dedate, we'll do our best to help you find a partner who can complete the job.
How to prepare
Clear furniture, grills, and planters off the deck, and trim back plants touching the boards or railings.
Tell us where the nearest outdoor water spigot is, and keep pets inside on work days.
Safety notes
Soft boards, wobbly railings, and loose stairs mean the structure under them may be failing too. Stay off any section that flexes or feels spongy until we've looked at it, and keep kids off the deck while stain or sealer dries.
